Happy Holidays...

By now you may be wondering why you have not received the Ranek Family Christmas card...no it was not lost in the mail, we did not send one out this year. If you have been a faithful follower of our blog site you may have noticed the lack of entries; well we are not big bloggers so this is actually a great Christmas gift to you who love to check blog sites!

In February of last year we were blessed with our second child, Isaac Patrick. We were happy to have another home birth. He is now almost 11 months and is quite the handful. He has a mouth full of chompers but is not too excited about eating until this last week, although he has no problem eating the house plants! He is already doing sign language. He loves his big brother! Isaac is smiling or laughing 90% of the time and other 10% he is screaming mad...might have to do with Kaleb steam rolling, tackling or biting him.

Kaleb (almost 3), besides the noted above, loves his little brother. Recently he has become mom's little helper with feeding Isaac. It took awhile but he has now come to the conclusion that Isaac is here to stay. Kaleb goes to bible study with me on Thursdays. He loves his teachers and playing with the other kids, he has even learned two bible verses. He spends his time playing with his cars and his 'like a bike' that he received for Christmas. We are still working on potty training, although he is potty trained on the days he feels like it. When he does use the potty he tells us "I used the potty all by myself! It is simply amazing!"

Josh was officially done with football in November of '07 and started a new job with RSW Medical selling Orthopedic implants (Arthrex) and functional/post-op braces (BREG). It has been a fun and challenging job.

I am currently staying at home with the boys and working at the Surgery Center when the staff is short of help. I love staying at home and feel so blessed to experience all of our boys' "firsts".

This last year we finished our basement (lot of sweat and fun) and are enjoying the added space (visitors welcome). We are also settling more into our surroundings; hiking/hunting in the Hills, playing at parks, spending time at our church, and the occasional camping/lake adventures. We are so thankful to be surrounded by a support group of family and friends and for the gift of Jesus this holiday season.
God Bless,
The Raneks
